Example
An item sells for JPY 3,980. With a 4% system fee, 3% payment fee, 1% points and 0.1% safety fee, fees total 8.1%, or JPY 322. The payout is JPY 3,658, and after JPY 1,500 product cost and JPY 700 shipping, profit is JPY 1,458, a 37% margin.
Rakuten Ichiba fees explained
Rakuten sellers pay a monthly plan fee plus fees on every sale: a system usage fee that depends on plan and sales, a Rakuten Pay payment fee of about 2.5% to 3.5%, the standard 1% Rakuten points, and a small 0.1% system fee. Orders from affiliates add an affiliate fee.
Choosing a Rakuten plan
Ganbare! has the lowest monthly fee but the highest percentage. Standard and Mega Shop cost more per month but less per sale, so they suit shops with higher monthly sales.
