How to use the Etsy fee calculator
- Enter your item price and the shipping you charge.
- Check the fee rates. Defaults are Etsy's US rates: 6.5% transaction fee, 3% + 0.25 payment processing and a 0.20 listing fee.
- If the order came from Offsite Ads, enter 15% (or 12% for shops over 10,000 a year). Add your product and shipping costs to see profit.

A print sells for 25 with 5 shipping, so the order total is 30. The transaction fee is 1.95, payment processing is 1.15 and the listing fee is 0.20, making 3.30 in Etsy fees and a 26.70 payout. After 6 in materials and 4.50 postage, profit is 16.20, a 54% margin.
Etsy fees explained
As of September 2026, Etsy charges a 0.20 listing fee per item, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, and payment processing that in the US is 3% plus 0.25 per order. Offsite Ads add 12% to 15% when a sale comes from an Etsy ad on another site.
How to protect your Etsy margin
Build fees into your price rather than absorbing them, include postage costs accurately, and review whether free shipping thresholds still leave enough profit. Fees are a percentage of the whole order, so higher prices do not escape them.
