In Mexico, an item sells for MXN 499 at a 15% Clásica commission. The commission is 74.85 and there is no fixed fee above MXN 299, so the payout is 424.15. After 200 product cost and 90 shipping, profit is 134.15, a 27% margin.
Mercado Libre fees explained
Mercado Libre charges a commission on each sale that depends on category and listing type. Clásica (Clássico in Brazil) costs less; Premium costs more but offers interest-free installments and more exposure. Cheaper items also pay a fixed fee per unit.
Shipping costs on Mercado Libre
Above a price threshold, free shipping is mandatory and the seller pays part of the shipping cost. Include your share in the shipping cost field so profit is realistic.
