CPM (Cost per Mille)

CPM is the cost of 1,000 ad impressions.

CPM is the standard way to price reach on social, video and display ads. Mille is Latin for thousand.

CPM varies by platform, audience, country and season. A higher CPM can still be efficient if the audience converts well.

Formula

CPM = Ad cost ÷ Impressions × 1,000

Example

A campaign costs 1,500 for 250,000 impressions, a CPM of 6.
